Rodi Kirk
I often play where music and software meet. I build tools that help people learn to play, and make music with collaborators around the world. Also a DJ, producer, film scorer, and product designer, by way of Auckland and Berlin.

Melodics
The app that's taught millions of people to play keys, pads, and drums, with adaptive lessons and real-time feedback. I lead the content and learning side: how practice feels, and how people actually get better.

Aron Ottignon & Rodi Kirk
A long-running partnership with the Paris-based pianist. Aron builds motifs at the piano while I shape them live: real-time sampling, granular synthesis, Push, a Tempest, and a custom Max for Live rig. The Blue Note LP (with percussionist Samuel Dubois) and the Spaces series, documented in the Funkhaus session A Question of Balance.

Brother Sun (feat. Kimbra)
The Rodi Kirk & Aron Ottignon version of Electric Wire Hustle's track with Kimbra. A piano-driven, disco-leaning dancefloor cut, with steel pan and bass from ex-Jamiroquai Nick Fyfe. Out on Bastard Jazz, with a killer dub from Ashley Beedle on the 12"

Scratch 22 (earlier work)
My earlier alias, retired around 2011, after a decade as a touring DJ and producer. New Zealand Red Bull Thre3style champion, one-third of jazz-rap trio The Unseen, and part of Auckland's ARC collective. Some of the projects below are still credited this way.

Distance From View
An instrumental hip-hop album, built to be heard end to end. It came out of years of beatmaking, including work with Auckland rapper Tourettes. (Released as Scratch 22.)
